Dr. Said Asadullah Fayaz
Founder & Director General
Dr. Fayaz is a medical doctor and civil society activist who has served the people of Afghanistan for over 20 years. Dr. Fayaz founded AHEAD in 2008 with the sole purpose of serving the most vulnerable Afghan communities that have suffered decades of war and poverty and who live in remote and least accessible areas with limited access to public services. Dr. Fayaz obtained his Medical Doctor degree from Balkh University, he then received a Diploma in Hospital Management from Poland and a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from India. Under his leadership, AHEAD has achieved numerous successes in making impact at the most remote and grass-root level for the poor and marginalized communities in Afghanistan. He always advocates for the rights and improved access to the service of the poor and vulnerable population of Afghanistan.
Dr. Farhad Farahmand
A medical doctor with over 17 years of professional experience in delivering public health services in Afghanistan. Dr. Farahmand is the Managing Director of AHEAD. He brings a wealth of expertise with particular strengths in areas such as Basic Package of Health Services, health system strengthening, research, human resource for health and program development. He has influenced the development of several public health strategies. Dr. Farahmand holds a master’s degree from the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) and a bachelor’s degree from Kabul Medical University
Mr. Saad Ali joined AHEAD in 2014 as Finance Manager, and later served as Financial Controller in 2016, and was appointed as Director Finance in 2019. He has also served as Audit Associate, Senior Auditor and Finance Manager in various companies over the past 10 years. He is certified in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accounting of Pakistan and holds his graduation in Economics.

Mr. Mohammadi is an executive management professional with over 15 years of experience in leading and implementation of technical portfolios and projects from conception to completion. Expert in assembling and overseeing multidisciplinary teams across the globe to achieve results and drive a positive outcome. Mr.Mohammadi has a proven track record of implementing process improvement, delivering mission objectives, and increasing output for the communities who gain lasting impact.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the United States, and a second master’s degree in public administration (MPA) from India, he has completed his undergraduate studies in the field of management in Kabul. Mr. Mohammadi is a Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) accredit by the United States National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
